OVER $59 BILLION IN DAMAGE
On September 27, 2024, Tropical Storm Helene brought flash floods, landslides, downed electricity lines, and damaged cell towers, leaving many residents to fight for their survival. Areas were without water, power, or communications for weeks. Latest estimates account for 104 lives lost, and many more injured or still missing.

AID WNC is building a resilient network of partners and cooperatives across the Blue Ridge. We’re putting disaster relief funding to work making lasting improvements that will impact the lives Appalachian children for generations to come.
